AUSTIN L'ECUYER

Candidate for EUS VP Services

Hello! My name is Austin L'Ecuyer, and I am running for EUS VP Services.

Let me start this off with a bit about myself. I have been involved with the engineering community at McGill for the past 4 years and sat on the EUS council for 2 of those years. I have coordinated and managed a plethora of events and served as VP events for the MAME council, as well as balanced my time as a member of the Rocket Team this year. On top of that, I have been a Blues Pub manager, the OAP Food manager, current OAP Co-Head Manager, and head manager of a small business, Kayak Safari. Most importantly, I currently work at CopiEUS, and absolutely love it!

The VP Services portfolio oversees all the managers who run the different amazing services the EUS offers, including CopiEUS, Frostbite, the General Store and the Cube. My primary focus next year will be to ensure the services continue to benefit all students on the McGill campus and have all the required resources to function optimally. More specifically, one of the large challenges of the coming year will be overseeing the newly hired managers and employees, as many current staff will be graduating at the end of this year (congrats to them!). It is crucial that we do not lose valuable knowledge about the inner workings of the services due to poor turnover, and I believe I can be instrumental in making sure this does not happen.

With many years of experience in providing services to students, and working with payroll and employees, as well as working in many different groups in McGill, I believe that I am qualified be your EUS VP Services. I am passionate about the engineering community and will put my full efforts towards supporting both new and old staff in the services, and the rest of my portfolio.
